GFL will not be providing trash collection services for residents on Friday (Jan. 24) due to continued icy conditions.

“With freezing temperatures until midday, GFL cannot allow the trucks to operate under these unsafe conditions,” Columbus County Solid Waste said in a press release.

GFL will resume trash collection services for Wednesday routes on Saturday morning. Trash containers should be by the roadside Friday night to ensure collection. GFL’s normal trash collection schedule will resume on Monday. Residents that have extra trash can place it by their trash containers on their collection day and GFL will collect the extra bagged trash.

Residents that receive trash collection services on Thursdays or Fridays and need to dispose of extra residential trash only before regular collection day may take it free of charge to the Columbus County Transfer Station. The Columbus County Transfer Station will Friday at 11:00 a.m.

Call GFL at 910.499.4646 for more information regarding trash collection services during the inclement weather.
