Nextdoor in Brunswick County, one person died during a house fire near Calabash this morning.
Three firefighters tried to get to the victim in the pre-dawn blaze.
One firefighter received minor burns during the rescue attempt and was treated on the scene.
The fire closed a portion of U.S. 17 for hours.
