Cocaine, marijuana, cash and firearms were confiscated Monday when the sheriff’s office raided a Sycamore Lane home during a rain storm.
Thurman Delean Jenrette, 53, of 808 Sycamore, Whiteville, was held under $150,000 bond, the sheriff’s office said in a press release. He was charged with trafficking in cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine and marijuana within 100 feet of a school; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana; maintaining a dwelling for drug activities; possession of a stolen firearm; possession of a firearm by a felon; and drug paraphernalia.
The raid came after an extensive investigation initiated by numerous citizen complaints. After narcotics detectives secured a search warrant for the residence, the search resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of cocaine and marijuana, multiple illegal firearms—including one reported stolen—and a sum of U.S. currency.
“Illegal narcotics and firearms threaten the safety of our communities,” said Sheriff Bill Rogers. “Our office will continue to work diligently to remove dangerous drugs and weapons from our streets. We appreciate the vigilance of our citizens and their role in helping law enforcement address these crimes.”
