A Clarendon woman died Tuesday after a single vehicle crash near Tabor City. The Highway Patrol said Mary Godwin, 68, went off the right side of the road and struck a culvert. Her car overturned on impact. Godwin later died at Novant New Hanover.
A bicyclist was transported to Columbus Regional with non life threatening injuries Wednesday after being struck on J.K. Powell Boulevard. The wreck is under investigation.
A car chase at speeds of 100 miles per hour ended with the suspect being jailed on child support and other charges. Shake Daniels allegedly struck a patrol car while trying to flee deputies. He was captured after a foot chase.
