WTAB Radio in Tabor City is off the air today after 71 years. It’s the end of an era and the home of the popular Swap Shop, Classic Country, Bluegrass, Carolina Beach Music, and religious broadcasts went silent at 7 a.m. Monday. The last song played by Station Owner Eric Sellars was Kenny Rogers’ Buy Me a Rose.

Local Whiteville Radio Station Power 1220 WENC AM also ceased broadcasting in January.
