One Dead in Monday Crash

One man is dead and two people are seriously injured after a three vehicle crash in North Whiteville Monday morning (today).
The wreck occurred on N.C. 410 near Silver Spoon Road, Sgt. K. McVicker of the Highway Patrol said.
Trooper J. Faulk of the Patrol reported that Patrick Pendleton, 40, of Bladenboro was heading north on N.C. 410 when he passed another vehicle in a no passing zone.
Pendleton’s 2020 Hyundai then collided head-on with a 2006 Toyota SUV driven by Savannah Lowry, 39, of Lumberton. A 2026 Chevrolet van driven by John Barber, 45, of Kenansville then rear ended Lowry’s vehicle.
The investigation is continuing, and charges are pending.
This is the third fatal crash on county roads this year.
