
Archie Preiston Cribb, age 80, of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Novant New Hanover Regional. Archie was born on August 26, 1944, in Columbus County to the late Arthur Cribb and Atha Ann Norris Cribb. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers; Everett Norris and Dale Cribb and sisters; Mary Riddle, Eunice Gore, and Bernice Cribb.
Upon graduation from high school, Archie received further education from Southeastern Community College as well as a degree from UNC-W. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. For 35 years Archie served as Vice President in the real estate section of BB&T (formerly UCB) Bank. He also volunteered with the Tabor City Rescue Squad. Archie was formerly a member of Emerson Free Will Baptist Church and Barefoot Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Theresa Scafuri Cribb of Wilmington, sons; T.J. Jamison (Tawnya) of Arizona and Tony Jamison of Wilmington, daughters; Traci Strack (Robert) of Matawan, NJ and Alexa Jackson (Dean) of Whiteville, sisters; Shirley C. Byrd (Dallas) of Clarendon, Alice C. Norris (Harold) of Sunset Beach, Hazel C. Inman (Rodney) of Tabor City, Pam C. Branton (Brian) of Loris, SC, and Cindy C. Dudley (Gerald) of Chadbourn, 10 grandchildren; Travis Blasco, Tyler Jamison, Trevor Jamison, Connor Jamison, Dani Soto, Lena Jackson, Zander Burton, Anna Jackson, Seth Jackson, and Ty Burton, 4 great grandchildren; Talon Jamison, Troy Jamison, T.J. Jamison, Adaline Burton, and beloved by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dean Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at McKenzie Mortuary.
