499,000 Voter Records Reviewed by State Board of Elections

The State Board of Elections has reviewed nearly 499,000 voter records across North Carolina as part of routine cleaning, as required by law.

Most of those removed from the rolls were people who have not voted or contacted their local boards in at least eight years.

Of those, 25,000 were deceased, and more than 2,500 were convicted felons.

Five non-citizens have been removed from the statewide roles so far this year. Seven thousand duplicate registrations were also found.
