Southeastern Community College had 218 graduates walk across the stage at the school’s spring commencement. The Class of 2025 had graduates with 52 degree, diploma and certificate distinctions.

 

To encourage more health care providers to serve in rural areas, the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services is offering the opportunity for educational loan repayments. This program, known as the North Carolina Primary Care Physician Incentive, is available to qualifying physicians committed to delivering high-quality, comprehensive care in independent private practices in certain rural counties.

 

The State Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has confirmed an established presence of the invasive spotted lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula) in Rockingham County. Initial surveys indicate that the distribution of the pest is concentrated in Reidsville within a two-mile area. Survey efforts are ongoing.
