An elderly man was severely beaten and stomped, then left in a wooded area Friday. Arnold Nance was taken to Columbus Regional Tuesday for treatment.
Kaye Stephens will resume her position at Emergency Management Director for Columbus County later this month. Former Lake Waccamaw Fire Chief Brandi Nance will serve as deputy chief. Stevens has served as Human Resources director since 2022, and previously managed emergency management.
Graduation for Columbus County Schools is this week. West Columbus will honor the class of 2025 Friday at 6:00 p.m. South Columbus will hand out diplomas Saturday at 10:00 a.m. East Columbus Seniors will walk Saturday at 3:00 p.m. For those unable to attend their Senior’s graduation ceremony, you can watch the livestream on the Columbus County Schools Facebook page.
