Municipal Election Filings Start July 7

Most municipalities in Columbus County have at least one seat up for a vote Nov. 4 as filing begins Monday for the fall municipal elections.

All races are non-partisan, and only registered voters who have lived in towns and cities for more than 30 days prior to an election  may cast a ballot.

In Whiteville, two District One council seats and one from District Two are on the ticket, along with the mayor.

Boardman’s entire town council of five seats and the mayor will be on the ballot.

Bolton has two commissioner’s seats and the mayor up for election.

Brunswick has three commissioners on the fall slate.

In Cerro Gordo, the mayor and three town council seats are up.

Chadbourn has two council seats up for decision.

Fair Bluff has the mayoral seat and three commissioners on the ballot.

At Lake Waccamaw, the mayor and one commissioner each from the east and west wards will be decided.

Tabor City as two council seats available.

Sandyfield had two seats opening on its town council.
