East Columbus Downs Whiteville 3-2 in Soccer: East Bladen-West Bladen tie 0-0
On Thursday, rivals in both counties clashed on the field for some great soccer.
At Lake Waccamaw, the Gators got the best of Whiteville 3-2. It was the season opener for East Columbus while the Wolfpack fell to 0-1-1 on the year. East Columbus plays Douglas Byrd at home on Monday. Whiteville hosts North Brunswick on Tuesday.
On the soccer field in Dublin, East Bladen played to a 0-0 tie with West Bladen. The Knights have never beaten the Eagles in 29 tries. This makes the second tie in the series with the Eagles winning the other 27 matches. West Bladen, now 0-1-1 on the season, plays at home to Pender on Monday. The Eagles (0-1-2) next wait for a rematch against West Bladen on Wednesday in Dublin.
