Deputies charged a Hallsboro woman with second degree arson Saturday, marking her 11th arrest in less than a year.
Amber Muse, 49, was held under $100,000 secured bond, according to detention center reports. Muse was charged with a single count of second degree arson. Court documents show Muse’s address as 122 and 144 Bussy Road.
Muse is alleged to have set fire to her neighbor’s property at 122 Bussy Road around 5 p.m., according to the sheriff’s report. An estimate of damages was not immediately available.
Arrest reports show Muse has been arrested for impeding traffic, resisting an officer, shoplifting, second degree trespassing, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, among other crimes, stretching back to 2024.
It wasn’t the first time Muse was charged with damage to the same property. On May 14, warrants show she was charged with damaging two entry doors in order to gain access to the same home. District Court Judge Scott Ussery dismissed charges of breaking and entering and resisting an officer against Muse in August after finding her “incapable to proceed”.
Judge Will Callahan entered the same finding Aug. 1, when Muse was facing a series of unrelated charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, injury to property, impeding traffic, trespassing, misdemeanor larceny and resisting an officer.
