Multiple charges were filed against a Charlotte man who allegedly broke into a garage and was found sleeping in a car Sunday morning.
Demanuelle Kevon Wilson, 34, was held under no bond, charged with felony possession of cocaine and opiates, marijuana possession, breaking and entering, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, and larceny. Arrest reports show his address as McTeal Place, Charlotte.
Deputies were called to a home in the 25000 block of Andrew Jackson Highway East at 7 a.m. to a report of a man sleeping inside a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle called 911 after finding him in the passenger side of the Toyota SUV, which was parked in a detached garage, the report said. Wilson was asleep in the vehicle and the door was open when the male victim found him, the report said.
He called 911 and “secured a firearm” at the direction of telecommunicators, the report said.
Wison said he had been left beside the road after a traffic stop the night before, and went to sleep in the car while waiting for a ride.
His clothing was on the floor near the vehicle, where deputies found cash, a phone, and marijuana. Additional suspected narcotics and paraphernalia were discovered in a jacket outside the garage. Wilson also allegedly ate a bag of potato chips he found in the garage or vehicle, the report said.
The defendant advised he had been left on the roadside the previous night after a traffic stop and entered the property while waiting for a ride.
