CERRO GORDO—West Bladen pushed its record to 12-5 on the season as the Knights routed West Columbus 75-41 in boys’ basketball Wednesday night.
Jackson Pait led the Knights with 18 points while Tylik McCall added 14 points. West Bladen led by 22 at the end of the first quarter and never took their foot off the gas. The Knights will travel to South Columbus (0-3, 5-7) on Friday for a Southeastern Conference match. Ayden Scott led the Vikings with 13 points in the loss. The Vikings (6-10) will host Union (1-5, 3-11) in a Carolina Conference battle Friday.

CERRO GORDO—West Bladen won its second game in a row as the Knights defeated West Columbus 53-39 in girls’ basketball Wednesday night.
Kali Allen led the Knights with 14 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Amiya McCarty added 13 points for the Knights, who improve to 3-11 on the season. West Bladen will travel to Vinegar Hill to face Southeastern Conference foe South Columbus (1-2, 3-10) on Friday night. Demya Powell posted a double-double to lead the Vikings. Powell had 17 points and 18 rebounds in the loss. West Columbus hosts Union (2-4, 8-8) in a Carolina Conference game on Friday.

TABOR CITY—South Brunswick held South Columbus to three fourth quarter points and came from nine points down to defeat South Columbus 52-48 in boys’ basketball Tuesday night.
Edward Young had 22 points and eight rebounds in the victory. Jaden Rossi added 15 points for the Cougars. West Brunswick outscored the Stallions 16-3 in the final quarter. South Brunswick moves to 3-0 in the Southeastern Conference 11-4 on the season. The Cougars will travel to Fairmont (1-2, 5-10) Friday night. South Columbus (0-3, 5-7) host West Brunswick (11-6) in a non-conference game on Thursday night.

Meryn Deutsch had 18 points and nine steals while teammate Adyson Bell scored 18 points and eight rebounds in the victory. South Brunswick (3-0, 10-1) will travel to Fairmont (3-0, 16-1) Friday for a battle of first place in the Southeastern Conference. South Columbus (0-3, 3-10) will take on West Brunswick (4-13) Thursday in a non-conference match.
