Here’s today’s Bottom Line:

Unseasonably warm temperatures will dominate the area today through Friday. Much more humid subtropical air will introduce the threat for some light rain showers Thursday and Friday. I’m not really sold on any overall amounts… I think whatever rain we get will be light and spotty.

Record highs are possible on Friday. All indications are that we will pop into the lower 80s if we receive enough sunshine. The record high for Friday is 79 degrees, recorded in 2000, so if we get the sun, we get the record.

Our next frontal system will move through the area this weekend. This will bring the springlike warmth to a sudden conclusion. A cold front crosses the area Saturday afternoon or Saturday evening with a better threat for showers (and possibly a rumble of thunder, but I doubt it).

Much colder air will infiltrate the area for the first few days of next week, but all indications are that it will be a short-lived cold snap. No wintry precip anytime in the foreseeable future.
