The N.C. Special Olympics Spring Games return to Columbus County Wednesday, for the second spring event.
“Last year, the Special Olympics were held in the spring for the first time since 2019,” stated Kristen Greene, the coordinator of this year’s Columbus County Special Olympics. Approximately 275 athletes participated last year, and organizers are expecting more this year.
This year’s games will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Whiteville High School’s soccer field beside Legion Stadium on Chadbourn Highway (Old 74-76.) The public is invited to come out and support these athletes.
