FAIRMONT—Whiteville used an explosive nine-run inning to defeat Fairmont 21-8 in baseball Tuesday night.
With the win, Whiteville moves to 5-0 in the Southeastern Conference and 10-6 on the season with the win. Channing Locklear drove in two runs in the loss for the Tornadoes.
Fairmont (2-3, 5-11) will visit Whiteville on Friday for a rematch at Legion Stadium.

WEST BLADEN 12, RED SPRINGS 2
DUBLIN—JT Hepler had three hits, three RBIs and a home run to lead West Bladen past Red Springs 12-2 in baseball on Tuesday night.
The Knights (2-3, 12-6) are on a roll with their fourth win in a row. Tyler Lewis contributed three hits and a run batted in for the Knight. Lewis, a senior, pitched a complete game, giving up three hits and striking out 10.
The Red Devils (0-5, 6-9) and the Knights will do a rematch on Friday in Red Springs.
