In Tabor City, South Columbus defeated East Bladen 3-1 in volleyball on Monday.
The Stallions won by scores of 25-13, 27-29,25-20, and 25-20. Morgan Boyd led South Columbus with nine kills. Taylor Dowless clocked six kills in the loss for the Eagles.
The Stallions are off to a strong start this season. They are 4-0 as of now. They will go to county rival Whiteville (0-4) on Aug. 24, when the Eagles will host Heide Trask (1-3).
In Dublin, West Bladen fell to Heide Trask 3-0. The scores in the loss were 25-18, 25-21, and 26-24. The Knights will host Pender (4-0) on Wednesday (Aug. 19.) Trask (1-3) will have a home match against North Brunswick (1-0) on Wednesday.
At Shallotte, the Trojans downed Whiteville 3-0. West Brunswick won the match by scores of 25-16, 25-16, and 25-13. Whiteville will travel to rival East Columbus (1-1) today (Tuesday) for a match in the Swamp while West Brunswick (1-3) travels to Boiling Springs to face South Brunswick (1-2).
