Here’s today’s Bottom Line

Yesterday was another beautiful day across the county with seasonable temperatures and low humidity.

Today will be … mostly the same. We’ll notice a little uptick in the humidity this afternoon but it really becomes noticeable on Thursday. The high pressure ridge drops off to our southeast allowing a frontal system to approach the area from the west. In between the front and the high, a southwesterly flow of moisture from the Gulf will lead to the potential for at least spotty showers and storms on Thursday.

Shower and thunderstorm chances ramp up Friday and especially over the weekend as the frontal system possibly (probably) stalls somewhere over the eastern Carolinas. Modeling shows a pretty good fetch of moisture lifting northeast along the front. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will be the likely result Saturday, Sunday, and into Monday before the front is pushed back westward by building high pressure offshore.

TROPICS: No Atlantic tropical activity is anticipated over the next 7-10 days.
