On Sept. 15 at Land O’Lakes in Whiteville, the SFGA held its weekly tournament. The tournament was a Texas Scramble format.
The teams of George Cochran, Elvin Meares, Bobby Gooden, Rodney Warwick tied the team of Wilber Simmons, Gordon Graham, Billy Storms, and Arvin Eaton for first place with a score of 116. Third place went to Rudy Pait, Roger Walton, Michael Pait, and Dennie Pait with a score of 118.

At Vineyard at White Lake, the weekly Thundering Herd was held on Sept. 10. The team of Blake Davis, Ronnie Sykes, Zac Scholar, Mike Sealey, and Joel McPherson won the event with a -6 score.
At Vineland of Whiteville, every Thursday the course has Nine-Hole Twilight Tournament that starts at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $18 for members and $21 for non-members.
