At Cerro Gordo, East Bladen beat West Columbus in three straight sets. The set scores were 25-19, 25-15, and 25-17. Taylor Dowless had 12 kills in the victory while Addie Douglas added 19 points and nine aces.
The Eagles will face Union (1-8, 2-14) Thursday in Delway. West Columbus falls to 4-6 in the Carolina Conference and 4-10 on the season. The Vikings will go to Hobbton (2-7, 5-9) on Thursday.
In Fairmont, West Bladen defeated the Golden Tornadoes 3-0. The set scores were 25-19, 25-23, and 25- 13. Greer Pope posted 32 assists in the contest. Teammates Shanna Lewis and Addison Wilcox both had nine kills in the victory.
West Bladen is now 5-2 in the Southeastern Conference and 9-6 on the year. They will host Red Springs (0-7, 0-15) today (Sept, 30). Fairmont (2-4, 6-9) will face Whiteville (1-6, 1-15) on Thursday.
In Red Springs, the Stallions downed Red Springs in three straight sets. South Columbus is now 5-1 in the Southeastern Conference and 15-2 on the season. The Stallions will host South Brunswick (7-0, 13-6) in a key match on Thursday. Red Springs (0-7, 0-15) will travel to Dublin to face West Bladen (5-2, 9-6) today.
In Whiteville, the Wolfpack fell to South Brunswick 3-0. The set scores were 25-11, 25-14, and 25-15 for the Cougars’ victory. South Brunswick is now 7-0 and 13-6 on the season. They will take on South Columbus (5-1, 15-2) in Tabor City for a big Southeastern Conference contest on Thursday. Whiteville (1-6, 1-15) will travel to Fairmont today.
In Delway, East Columbus downed Union 3-0. The Gators will host Lakewood (4-5, 7-10) Thursday when Union travels to Elizabethtown to face the Eagles (8-1, 13-5).
