Here’s today’s Bottom Line

A “stacked” high pressure ridge (high pressure both at the surface and aloft) near the Louisiana/Mississippi coast will gradually push across the deep south into Georgia and South Carolina by Thursday, and then just off the coast during the day Friday. Widespread sinking air keeps the forecast dry, the skies clear and blue … and brings unseasonably warm temperatures to the area. Widespread highs in the upper 80s to around 90 can be expected today and tomorrow, settling back into the upper 80s on Friday.

Then … change.

Big-time change.

A tremendous fall cold front will arrive Friday evening or early overnight. The only “remarkable” weather with the front will be a strong uptick in windy conditions Friday night. The high pressure ridge gets shoved HARD well offshore.

Temperatures tumble Friday night, bottoming out in the lower 50s early Saturday, with breezy to rather windy conditions continuing through a good part of the day. Highs will only reach the mid 60s … which is normal for early to mid December … with winds around 30 mph.

Lows dive into the lower 40s Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Highs Sunday will be up a degree or two from Saturday… with dry weather continuing into Monday.

Of note … long-term trends show little to no precipitation THROUGH NEXT FRIDAY (the 23rd).

TROPICS: Nothing doing.
