Boil Advisory at Lake Waccamaw

Low pressure and outages have led to a boil advisory at Lake Waccamaw.

Customers from 3200 Canal Cove Road through Waccamaw Shores, including Wooded Acres, are experiencing low or no water pressure due to repairs on the system. A lack of pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

The town recommends that all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water be vigorously boiled for one minute. Residents should also practice water conservation when possible.

The advisory was issued for residents from 3200 Canal Cove Road to the end of Waccamaw Shores and includes Wooded Acres Subdivision. For more information call 910.646.3700.
