Fire Station Damaged in Blaze Monday

A Nakina Volunteer Fire Department fire engine that had recently returned from the South Carolina wildfires was destroyed in a fire of its own Monday. The entire area is under a special weather advisory for increased fire danger through Tuesday evening, and Whiteville city officials are reminding residents that it’s illegal to burn debris within the city limits.
