School sports will not begin until at least Sept. 1.
The N.C. High School Athletic Association (NCSAA) made the announcement on Twitter this morning.
The first five days of the school year will be considered a “dead” period, with no athletic activities of any kind, to allow students and staff to focus on the return to school, the NCHSAA said.
School workouts and summer conditioning will continue under the current guidelines until further notice.
