Hard — and hot — at work

Despite triple digit heat index, this crew with the City of Whiteville was hard at it Friday, trimming and mowing along West Main Street downtown. The men said they keep a cooler of fresh water in their equipment trailer, and take frequent breaks when the temperatures are dangerously high.
