Local governments, law enforcement agencies and residents are preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Isaias later today.

**Long lines are common at area banks today as residents make sure they have enough cash to weather the storm.**

**Utility companies are prepositioning some assets in anticipation of power outages caused by the pending hurricane.**

One of the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office high water rescue vehicles out for a “shake down” drive this morning. The sheriff’s office obtained multiple heavy surplus vehicles through a state and federal program that provides equipment at no cost to local law enforcement.
