Long lines are common at area banks today as residents make sure they have enough cash to weather the storm.Utility companies are prepositioning some assets in anticipation of power outages caused by the pending hurricane.One of the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office high water rescue vehicles out for a “shake down” drive this morning. The sheriff’s office obtained multiple heavy surplus vehicles through a state and federal program that provides equipment at no cost to local law enforcement.
