Sally Carol Miller Powers, age 69, of Evergreen, peacefully slipped into eternity on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
She was born on May 23, 1951 in Mullins, S.C. to the late Sherwood Miller and Lucille Hill Miller.
She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Emory Powers and two siblings, Betty M. Tedder and Richard Miller.
Sally retired from the Berkley County Public Schools System, where she was employed in the cafeteria area for 20 years. She was a faithful member of Hinsons Crossroads Baptist Church, where she was active in various roles.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Dr. Glenn Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in the Meares Cemetery, Fair Bluff.
Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:45 p.m., prior to the service.
To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her husband, Carl Emory Powers, Jr of the home; two daughters, Holly Powers Williamson and her husband, Mark of Evergreen and Hope Powers Burnett of Moncks Corner, S.C.; two siblings, Susan “Susie” Miller Nance of Chadbourn and Nancy Miller Weatherford and her husband, Paul, Jr. of Fair Bluff; grandchildren, Branton Williamson, Ethan Williamson, Dylan Burnett, Carlee Burnett and Phyllis-Grace Williamson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hinsons Crossroads Baptist Church, Fair Bluff, N.C.
