For the second time a building site on Big Island Road in Old Dock has been robbed of tools and other supplies while a couple attempts to build their dream home.

Dustin and Amber Nealey took to Facebook to warn others, and try to recover some of the stolen items.

“We are missing all of our tools from the trailer,” the couple said in the post. “Dustin has taken time away from work to build this house. We have lived in our camper since February while this build has been going on.”

The thieves went to great extremes to cover up evidence at the scene. They used sprays to cover up fingerprints, and used the family’s tractor to load up the property.  They also attempted to take lumber from the site, but they were unsuccessful. The tractor in question was found down the road, and it was discovered that even the surveillance cameras installed on the property were missing.

“This makes me want to give up in this area. This is the second time we have been robbed, and there were two other attempts aside from the successful ones,” Amber said.

The items stolen include a Makita radial chop saw, saw stand, Generac generator, nail guns, three DeWalt drills, a Kobalt battery operated tool set, and other equipment.

The couple asked that folks in the community help spread the word, and keep an eye out for the missing property.
