Stella Chestnut Vaught, 63, formerly of Whiteville, died Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital in Fayetteville, NC.
Funeral will be 1:00 PM Thursday, August 12, at Peoples Funeral Chapel in Whiteville by Pastor Ricky McLean of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Pickett Memorial Park.
Walk-thru viewing will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM and Thursday one hour prior to the service.
Surviving are her daughter, Antonia Chestnut of the home; son, Akeem Chestnut of the home; sisters, Annie J. Chestnut and Mary Chestnut of Whiteville, Lorene Mahoney of Chadbourn, Donna Pierce and Blanche Thurman of Hallsboro, and Henrietta Carter of Wilmington; brothers, Fredrick Currie of Chadbourn, James Chestnut of Whiteville, James Long of Raleigh; and five grandchildren.
