August 20, 1931 ~ August 2, 2021 (age 89)
William Kimble Brock age 90, of Whiteville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the SECU Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Bolivia.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Western Prong Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dean Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the cemetery.
Mr. Kimble was a lifelong member of Oak Dale Baptist where he served as a Deacon and served in many capacities within the church. He honorable served his country in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard for 40 years retiring in 1997. He was employed by the NC Dept of Agriculture working at the NC Border Belt Research Station in Whiteville for 38 years. He was a charter member of the North Whiteville Fire Department where he served as chairperson on the board of directors for many years.
He was the son of the late Thomas Brock and Georgia Love Jones Brock and was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Grey Hooks Brock. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Gray Brock and nine siblings, Fredrick A. Brock, Thomas Vander Brock, Roger Cortez Brock, Mabel Coleman, Effie Robbins, Pauline Clewis, Irene Godwin, Mildred B Thompson and Willard Brock (infant).
He is survived by a grandson, William Rhys Brock-Loftus and his wife, Liz of Greensboro; nephew/caregiver, Freddie Arvil Brock of Lake Waccamaw; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge Carol Locklear and Alexia Stover for their loving care given to Mr. Kimble.
