January 24, 1955 ~ September 26, 2021 (age 66)
Eddie Leon Cumbee, age 66, of the Crusoe community went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville under the care of Lower Cape Fear Hospice on September 26, 2021.
He was born January 24, 1955, the son of the late Henry Leon Cumbee and Islene Etheridge Cumbee. He loved his family, friends, and community. He worked nuclear construction for over 30 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Cumbee; a brother-in-law, William Price; paternal grandparents, Jack and Bertie Cumbee; and maternal grandparents, Avery and Kate Etheridge. He is survived by his faithful wife of 48 years, Rose Faulk Cumbee; daughter, Elisa Cumbee Malpass (Shane); son, Eddie Scott Cumbee (Amanda);granddaughters, Lacey Malpass and Faith Cumbee; grandson, Samuel Cumbee; sisters, Kay Long (Ronnie) and Debbie Price; brothers, Phillip Cumbee (Velvet)and Jack Cumbee (Lori); sister-in-law, Christine Cumbee and nieces and nephews.
The Cumbee family would like to express their deep appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Columbus Regional Healthcare and Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they showed our family. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
A private service will be held at the Cumbee Cemetery.
