January 29, 1933 ~ August 31, 2021 (age 88)
Frances Carroll Congleton, age 88, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on August 31, 2021. She was in care at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.
Frances is now reunited with her husband, Donald Congleton, who passed away in March of 2021. She is survived by her three children, Don Congleton and Jeff Congleton (Debbie), both of Riegelwood, NC and Anita Congleton Hall (Scott) of Winston-Salem, NC; five grandchildren, Steven Congleton (Jessica) of Leland, Emily Congleton Benton (Kevin) of Hallsboro, Ethan Congleton (Haley) of Delco, Randall Hall of Winston-Salem and Kylee Jo Congleton of Riegelwood, NC; three great-grandchildren, Grace, Colbie and Scarlet Congleton all of Leland, NC; and her brother, Charles Carroll (Carol) of Riegelwood.
Frances was born to Johnny and Viola Hilburn Carroll of Riegelwood. She graduated from Acme-Delco High School. She was a member of Riegelwood Baptist Church where she attended faithfully, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir until her dementia progressed too far. Frances worked for New Hanover Medical Specialist in Wilmington for 15 years. One of her great joys was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was always room in her lap for one more.
Her children are proud of the godly example she set for them and others. Psalm 4:8 “In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust.”
Visitation will be held at Riegelwood Baptist Church Saturday at 10:00 – 10:45 am on September 4, 2021. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am, followed by the graveside service.
