Alene Spivey Garner, age 82 of Crusoe Island community in Whiteville, passed away on October 7, 2021, at her home.

Alene was born on February 22, 1939, in Columbus County, to the late David Register and Ida Spivey. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Oscar Garner.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Garner Family Cemetery (133 Crusoe Island Road), with Dr. Tommy Bryson officiating.

Survivors include her children, George Oscar Garner, Jr. of Crusoe Island, George Allen Garner (Wormie) of Crusoe Island, Cereta Balla (Roy) of Supply, Johnnie Alton Garner (Linda) of Whiteville, Michael Edward Garner (Ginger) of Crusoe Island; grandchildren, James Garner, Timmy Garner, Roxann Condrey, Michael Garner, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Erin, Seth, Nolan, Easton, Journey, Madelyn, Brody.
