Mr. Alva Penny, Jr. 85, of Whiteville passed on October 5, 2021 in Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. He was born in Columbus County June 14, 1936, the son of the late Alva Penny, Sr. and Cogia Jernigan Penny.
He is survived by a sister, Virginia Sellers of Shallotte; nieces, Cathy Beasley and Lula Mae Sellers, a nephew, Obie Lee Sellers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Estelle White and Louise Penny; three brothers, John Henry Penny, Walter Penny and John Calvin Penny; a step brother, Bellamy Penny.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 am Monday, October 11, 2021 graveside at the Penny Family Cemetery with Rev. Tuddie Dixion officiating.
