Valda Marguerite Lewis Hufham, 95, of Clarkton went to her eternal home on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Paul and Annie Rhyne Lewis, her husband Ernest Hufham, two daughters, Valda Shull and Linda Howell, three sons, Mitchell Stone Jr., Timmy Hufham and Jimmy Hufham, two sisters, Thelma Prevatte and Miriam Carroll and one brother, John Paul “JP” Lewis Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Tina Hufham Sanderlin (Randy) of Williston, SC, son-in-law Larry Shull (Rhonda) of Fayetteville, 11 grandchildren, John Shull (Marjorie), Dan Shull (LaVika), Michelle Arnette (Brian), Suzanne Stone, April Johnson (Leonard), Jamie Hufham (Jessica), David Dewitt Howell (Stacey), Ericka Hufham Smith (Jamie), Brandy Sue Sanderlin, Tyler Sanderlin, and one grandchild in her heart. She also leaves behind 11 great grandchildren, two nephews, Edgar Carroll (Sang-Hee), and Eric Prevatte, niece Paula Kay Snell, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Prevatte.

Marguerite was a wonderful, adoring Christian lady whose greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her friends and family. She was a great listener and loved “table talk” or phone calls except during her favorite show, Jeopardy. She was a dear mother and “Mimi” to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Marguerite worked as a bookkeeper with McLean Wholesale and adored her boss, Mac McLean dearly but left to come home and care for her husband and sons. She enjoyed working with numbers and had a great eye for color and décor. Marguerite’s legacy of compassion, determination and integrity will live on in the hearts of all those who love her dearly. 

The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Clarkton Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will follow at 4 pm with Rev. Barrett Ingram officiating. Services will conclude in the Clarkton Cemetery.
