Edward “Ebbie” Gearl Butler, age 85 of Chadbourn, died on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.
Ebbie was the son of the late Charlie Ring Butler and Mary Maglene Martin Butler. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Kay Butler and six siblings, Harold Dean “Buddy” Butler, Mearl Gene Butler, Wilton “Bill” Butler, Janice B. Bryson, Doris B. Tedder and Aileen B. Williamson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ebbie was employed by Pony Express, as a Bank Courier for many years.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Shirley Lou Dudney Butler of the home; children, Edwin Dearl Butler (Rose) of Chadbourn, Jeffrey Keith Butler (late-Elizabeth Simmons Butler) of Virginia Beach, Va, Reida Faye Butler of the home; a sister, Brenda B. Grainger (Sonny) of Chadbourn; two grandchildren, Chelsea Butler of Florida and Rachel Ahrens (Luke) of Maine.
