James Allen “Big Al” Johnson, 60, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Mr. Johnson was born in Conway, SC, son of the late Henry Lloyd Johnson and Mary Brown Johnson.
He is survived by his children, Tracy Morgan of Whiteville and James Allen (Crystal) Johnson Jr. of Little River, SC;
Four grandchildren, Ashley (Angel) Lee of Aynor, SC, Teeya Lee of Whiteville, Alley and James “AJ” Allen Johnson III of Little River, SC;
Four great-grandchildren, Kayden & Kolesyn Maldonado, and Kynden and Ansleigh Lee; brothers, Lloyd (Debra) Johnson, Roger (Rose) Johnson, Artie Johnson, Edward Johnson, and Timmy Johnson; her sister, AnnieBelle Johnson; his partner, JoAnn Neese; her children, Sarah Neese (Andrew) Hewett, Jerry (Rachel) Todd, and predeceased by her daughter, Sierra Neese, and her eight grandchildren.
Big Al was a loving Father, PaPa, Son, Brother, and Friend to everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed cooking and operating Mama’s Restaurant in Tabor City.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date by his children.
