William Smith exited the Carolinas Healthcare System in Charlotte October 31, 2021.
On Wednesday, November 3, 2021 the formal “farewell” Graveside Ceremony will be called to order at 2pm, in the Evergreen Community Cemetery in Evergreen.
Left to forever cherish his memories are his wife: Jeanette Smith of the home; two daughters: Jemetric L. Smith and Hope V. Smith (Corey); seven grandchildren: Zora Frink, Patience Daniels, Zamya Lesane, Joshua Shipley, Asad Hope, Joan Brown, Amir Hope, and Kiyah Smith; his mother: Kiniee Mason of Boardman;
Four brothers: Rev. Michael Smith (Brenda) of Chadbourn, Fred Mason, Jr. and Walter Mason, both of Whiteville and Albert Smith of Lumberton; three sisters: Marvor Evans of Whiteville, Pam Geiger (Otis) of Hallsboro and Rose Pettiway (Kenny) of Massachusetts;
Special daughters: Lateisha Billings, Vanesia Lewis (Juan), Tonya Drake (Vincent), Evita Chestnut (Damon), Latoya Ladson and Monica McIntyre; special niece: Jelesia “Lele” Chestnut; special nephews: Lamont Smith, Samuel Smith, A.J. Smith, Preston McIntyre, Julius Caulder, Josiah Billings and Emmanuel Gause; sisters-in-law: Shirley Smith and Gail Chestnut, both of Evergreen, NC, Mildred Smith of Lumberton, NC, Tina Booker (Kelvin) and Crystal Smith, both of Hickory; two brothers-in-law: Preston Smith (Lisa) and Floyd Smith (Barbara) of Highpoint and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
