12/24/21 Sports Wrap-Up
NFL: Thursday night is here and so is the start of week 16 in the NFL. The 49ers head into Tennessee to take on the Titans. Clear skies tonight and a low near 50 will make the conditions perfect for football. The game is scheduled for an 8:20 kick-ff on the NFL Network.
There are two games on Saturday this week as well. The league leading, 11-3, Green Bay Packers will host the Cleveland Browns at 1pm on Fox.
The second game on Saturday is the Indianapolis Colts going into Arizona. The Cardinals have lost two in a row. They need a win the stay atop the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West Division, both teams sit at 10-4. The Cardinals and Colts are scheduled for an 820pm start on the NFL Network.
Sunday, Tampa Bay rolls into Carolina to face the Panthers. Sam Darnold will be active, but unsure of how much action he will see. The game is on FOX with a 1pm kick-off.
Sunday night is the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Football team. Dallas sits alone at the top of the NFC East with a 10-4 record. This game is on NBC, coverage starts at 7pm. Kick-off is 8:20pm.
NBA: The Charlotte Hornets are back in action tonight as they travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets. The game is scheduled for 9pm. The Hornets will return home Dec 27, to face the Houston Rockets. Tickets are still available for this game at the Spectrum Center.
NHL: All games in the NHL were postponed last night due to Covid-19 infections and protocol. 14 of the 15 games scheduled tonight are postponed as well. One of the postponed games is the Carolina Hurricanes matchup against the Ottawa Senators. The Washington Capitals will head into New York to take on the Islanders in the one game being played tonight at 7:30pm. The game will be on MSG+,
The Florida Panthers are scheduled for Monday night in Carolina. We will have to wait to see if it will be postponed.
NCAA: Men’s College Football Bowl Updates.
The Army Black Knights won the Armed Forces Bowl yesterday 24-22 against Missouri. Army’s hit a 41-yard field goal as time expired. The Tigers scored with 1:11 left in the game to take the lead but could not hold on for the upset victory.
Today’s only game is the Gasparilla Bowl, which features the University of Central Florida Knights versus the Florida Gators. This game is scheduled for 7pm.
LOCAL SPORTS: All schools regular programs are on hiatus through Christmas.
