12/24/21 Sports Wrap Up 

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas Eve day to you all. Covid-19 has slowed down a lot of sporting events, but we have you covered with all you need on this Christmas Eve. 

NFL: Week 16 kicked off last night with a last second win for the Tennessee Titans, on a 44-yard field goal with :04 seconds left in regulation to get the victory 20-17. The Titans move to 15-4 on the season, they sit alone at the top of the AFC South. 

Christmas day has two games scheduled in the NFL. The 7-7 Browns are in Green Bay to face the 11-3 Packers at 4:30pm on FOX. 8:15pm on the NFL Network is the Colts and Cardinals. Indianapolis is 8-6 and Arizona is 10-4.  

Sunday the Panthers host Tampa Bay at 1pm on FOX. The Buccaneers are among the league’s best sitting at 10-4 and Carolina has lost four in a row and sit in fourth place in the NFC South. 

Sunday night is the Washington Football Team versus the Dallas Cowboys kicking off at 8:20pm on NBC. The cowboys sit alone at the top of the NFC East with a 10-4 record. 

Miami is in New Orleans Monday night at 8:15pm on ESPN/ABC. The Dolphins are having a good run at it right now, winning their last six games. 

 

NHL: Last night’s only scheduled game of the Washington Capitals at the New York Islanders ended up getting postponed as well due to Covid-19. The NHL has been hit the hardest by the pandemic and is considering a slow-down or temporary break from the season. There are no games scheduled till after Christmas. The schedule hopes to resume Dec 27. Stay tuned to CCN for the latest breaking news from across the NHL and sports world. 

NBA: Wrapping it up today with some NBA news. The Charlotte Hornets got the win late last night in Denver 115-107. Nikola Jokic led all scorers and rebounders with a huge double-double. Jokic had 29 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists for the Nuggets, but that was not enough. Kelly Oubre Jr. Led the Hornets with 23 points, 4 rebounds and an assist. PJ Washington also contributed big for Charlotte with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The Hornets move to 17-17 on the season. 

No games in the NBA tonight, but there are five tomorrow on ABC and ESPN. The games tip off at 12:00pm on ESPN with the Atlanta Hawks in MSG versus the New York Knicks. Followed by the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks at 2:30pm on ABC, starting their afternoon coverage. This game is followed by the Golden State Warriors at the Phoenix Suns at 5pm on ABC, then the Brooklyn Nets will face the Los Angeles Lakers at 8pm on ABC. The evening ends on ESPN as the Utah Jazz host the Dallas Mavericks at 10pm
