NFL: The Kansas City Chiefs and the Chargers will go at it tonight in San Diego. The 9-4 Chiefs come in hot after a strong win, 48-9 in Las Vegas. Kansas City has only given up nine points in each of their last three games.

Two Saturday games on the NFL Network. Los Angeles Raiders at the Cleveland Browns, 4:30pm kick-off and the New England Patriots at the Indianapolis Colts, starting at 8pm.

The Carolina Panthers are in Buffalo to take on the Bills Sunday. That game kicks off at 1pm on FOX.

It is official. Super Bowl 58, originally scheduled for New Orleans, has been moved to Alegent Stadium in Las Vegas. The date remains the same February 11, 2024.

NHL: The NHL has been postponing games recently to an outbreak of Covid-19 cases. The Carolina Panthers game against the Minnesota Wild was a victim of the rescheduling. The Carolina team just returned from Canada where they played the Calgary Flames. Calgary is considered ground zero in this latest NHL outbreak of the Corona virus. The Flames previous two games have been postponed. Toronto versus the Flames has also been cancelled tonight. We will try to keep you updated on this developing story.

The Carolina Hurricanes will host the Detroit Redwings tonight. They hope to have defensemen Pesce and DiAngelo back in the lineup, as they return from Covid protocol. The Hurricanes are 19-7-1 entering the game. The puck drops at 7pm. The Los Angeles Kings are coming to Carolina Saturday night for a 7pm start and the Nashville Predators wrap up the Hurricanes short three game home trip Sunday afternoon at 5pm.

NBA: The Charlotte Hornets took care of business last night in Dallas, defeating the Mavericks 131-115.  Gordon Hayward was high scorer of the game with 41 points. Jalen McDaniels pulled down the most boards with 15 rebounds. Miles Bridges scored 19 points and led the game in assists with 8.

The Hornets are back in action Friday night in Portland at 10pm.

Chicago Bulls at Toronto tonight has been postponed due to Covid concerns.

LOCAL SPORTS: No scores were reported last night Whiteville versus Purnell Swett matchups. The Lady Wolfpack is back in action tonight. They are travelling to Fairmont with a 6pm start.

The South Columbus Stallions are looking for their first win of the season, in both the Boys and girls Varsity Basketball program, they head into Loris tonight. Varsity Girls game start at 6pm. Varsity Boys tip-off at 7:30pm.

The rest of the local high school basketball programs return to action Friday night.
