1/8/22 Daily Sports Wrap Up
NBA: The Hornets are back in action tonight at 7pm in the Spectrum. The Milwaukee Bucks are coming to town and are coming off a win in Brooklyn last night.

Magic versus the Pistons 7pm
Knicks at the Celtics in the second half of the home versus home back-to-back. The Knicks came back from 25 points and hit a buzzer beater to win the last game. The Celtics have lost their last two games. This game is at 7:30pm on NBA TV.
Suns host the Heat at 10pm
Last night around the league:
Spurs lost 119-100 to the 76ers. Joel Embiid had a double-double and led all players in points and rebounds. Embiid finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists
Bucks beat the Nets 121-109. Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers with 31 points, he also led the game in assists with 9. Giannis also had 7 rebounds. Bobby Portis had a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Kevin Durant led the Nets with 29 points and James Harden scored 16. Both Harden and Durant had 9 rebounds and 7 assists.
Raptors over the Jazz 122-108. Fred VanVleet scored his first career triple-double with 37 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. VanVleet also led all players in points, rebounds, and assists.
Timberwolves 135-105 over the Thunder. Timberwolves, D’Angelo Russell had a double-double 27 points and 12 assists and led the game in both categories. Minnesota’s Jarred Vanderbilt also had a double-double, led the game in rebounds with 17 and had 11 points.
Bulls win their ninth straight, taking care of the Wizards 130-122. The Bulls’ Zach LaVine had 29 points. DeMar DeRozen had 15 points and 8 assists. Nikola Vucevic had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds for Chicago.
Rockets lost to the Mavericks 130-106
Nuggets beat the Kings 121-111. The Nuggets Nikola Jokic had a double-double with 33 points and 10 rebounds. He also led the game in assists with 7.
Lakers over the Hawks 134-118. LeBron James continues to defy father time and seems to be getting better with age scoring 32 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. He leads the league in 30 plus point games and has had ten straight 25 plus point games. Russell Westbrook ended the game with a double-double scoring 9 points, with 11 rebounds and 13 assists. Trey Young almost had a triple-double for Atlanta, he finished with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 14 assists.
Trail Blazers lost to the Cavaliers 114-101. Darius Garland led Cleveland and the game with 26 points. Jarrett Allen had 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Cavaliers.
NHL: Two games last night:
The Hurricanes beat the Flames 6-3. Carolina only needed 37 shots on goal to take care of business. Five players scored goals for the Hurricanes. Andrei Svechnikov scored 2 goals on six shots. Jesper Fast, Derek Stepan, Tony DeAngelo and Brady Skjei each scored as well. Frederick Anderson stopped 36 shots for Carolina. Carolina is back in action tonight as they host the Florida Panthers at 7pm in the PNC Arena.
The Capitals lost to the Blues 5-1. Pavel Bucknevich scored two goals in the win for St. Louis.
