1/26/22 Daily Sports Wrap Up

MLB:  It is that time of the year that the MLB and BBWA release the new Hall of Fame entries. Last year there was no one selected. This year David Ortiz, getting 77.9 percent (75 percent is needed), is the only name on the list. If anyone is waiting for Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens to finally enter the HOF, it will not be happening anytime soon, they have been removed from the ballot. Major League Baseball has changed the rules that only allow a player to be on the nominee list for 10 years. That rule was put in place July of 2014. MLB put only three players on the grandfather list as part of the rule: Don Mattingly (15th year), Alan Trammell (14th year), and Lee Smith (13th year).
