Don Mercer, age 83 of the Beaverdam Community in Chadbourn, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.
Don was born on January 24, 1938, in Columbus County, to the late Arthur James and Doretha Edwards Mercer. Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Ann Mercer. His wife, Debbie Christine Gore Mercer also preceded him in death on January 12, 2022.
A graveside service will be held for Don and his wife, Christine at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 with Reverend Buddy Seay officiating.
Survivors include his children, Donald Wayne Mercer (Brenda) of Chadbourn, Ricky Dean Mercer of the home; sister, Peggy Mercer Sellers of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Brandon, AJ, John, Ricky, Jr. and Lj; and a great-grandson, Bryson Mercer.
