02/17/22 Daily Sports Wrap Up 

Local Sports:  The Conference Tournament at Pender High School is underway, and it is time for the quarter finals, both Whiteville teams are in action today. The Girls Varsity game is 4pm and the Boys are scheduled at 5:30pm. Both Wolfpack teams had the number one seed in the tournament and had a bye in the first round. 

Whiteville Wolfpack Varsity Baseball starts the 2022 season with a scrimmage on the road today at North Brunswick. This scrimmage game was originally scheduled for Friday. NBA Last Night:  Hawks beat the Magic 130-109 

The Nets beat the Knicks 108-106. Nets came back from 28 points down to win. It was the largest comeback win in the Nets franchise history, and it was also the largest comeback that the Knicks have allowed in franchise history. 

Wizards lost at the Pacers 113-108 

Celtics fall to the Pistons 112-111 

Spurs defeat the Thunder 114-106 

Timberwolves take down the Raptors 103-91 

Kings lost to the Bulls 125-118 

Trail Blazers win on the road at the Grizzlies 123-119 

Rockets get burnt by the Suns 124-121 

Jazz fall to the Lakers 106-101. Davis left the game with an injured ankle. Xray was negative, they will have a MRI today. He is expected to miss two weeks. 

Warriors lost to the Nuggets 117-116 

Today:  Heat at Hornets tonight at the Spectrum Center. Tip-off is 7pm 

Wizards and Nets 7:30pm 

Mavericks versus Pelicans 8pm 

Bucks host the 76ers 8:30pm TNT 

Rockets at Clippers 10:30pm 

Olympics:  Canada wins 3-2 in women’s hockey. Canada gets the Gold and USA gets the Silver medal. 

USA has 21 total medals and sits in fourth place amongst countries with medals. 

NHL Yesterday: 

Panthers beat the Hurricanes 3-2 in overtime. The Hurricanes only had 18 shots on net but were in it to the end. Teuvo Teravainen and Tony DeAngelo had goals for Carolina. Frederik Anderson was in net for Carolina. The Hurricanes are now 32-11-4 and in second place in the Metropolitan division.

Flames 6-2 over the Ducks 

Avalanche shutout the Golden Knights 2-0

Furman beats Western Carolina 103-85 

UNC-Asheville defeats Charleston Southern 85-66 

North Carolina A & T lost on the road at Hampton 93-82 

North Carolina Tar Heels lost to Pittsburgh 76-67. Caleb love had 19 points, Brady Manek finished with a 12 points and 10 rebound double-double, and Armando Bacot had 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the Tar Heels.
