Tillman Knight, Jr., age 88 of the Porter Swamp Community in Cerro Gordo, went to be with his Lord and Savoir on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.
Tillman was born on September 18, 1933, in Columbus County, to the late Samuel Tillman Knight and Addie Leola Edwards Knight. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Neal Knight; a grandson, Timothy Jason Knight; siblings, Virginia Ruth Knight Elliott and Charles Bronson Knight, and his beloved wife of 66 years, Viola Sealey Knight.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Porter Swamp Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:45, prior to the service, at the church.
Mr. Knight was a faithful member of Porter Swamp Baptist Church in Cerro Gordo, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He, along with his wife, Viola, owned and operated Knight’s Custodial Service.
Tillman is survived by his grandchildren; Jeffery Neal Knight, II and Tyler Cole Knight; sisters, Leona Kerns (Butch) of Cerro Gordo, Dorothy Faye Dills of Thomasville.
