Nat Stallings, Jr. age 77 of Riegelwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Nat was born on January 2, 1945, in New Hanover County, to the late Nat Stallings, Sr. and Addie Mary Lewis Stallings. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Elaine Knight, Peggy Cole, and Barbara Wirtz.
Services commemorating Nat’s life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Riegelwood Baptist Church; Rev. Cameron Lewis will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:50, prior to the service, and at other times, at their home.
Mr. Stallings was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and fish. He was a jack of all trades, he enjoyed woodworking, and taxidermy. Nat retired from General Electric in Wilmington, following many years of dedicated service. Above all, Nat loved his family and he loved his country, which was displayed during his service in the United States Navy.
To cherish his memory, Nat leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 53 years, Judy F. Stallings; beloved children, Tara S. Waters (Joe) of Hope Mills, Natalie S. Godwin (Bruno) of Lake Waccamaw, Shelley S. Alercia (Patrick) of Wilmington; beloved grandchildren, Sydney “Gabby” Waters, Aaron Waters, Karli Godwin, and Aleigh Godwin; nephew, Mike Cole and wife, Ann, and a great-nephew, Chris Cole.
