Two additional drug suspects have been arrested in the latest phase of what has been dubbed “Operation Green Cleaning.”
The ongoing narcotics enforcement operation by the Sheriff’s Office netted 103 grams of marijuana, 2.5 ounces of cocaine, and $3,900 in a March 9 raid. In a press release, Sheriff Jody Greene said the investigation was sparked by citizen complaints about suspicious activity on Pine circle Drive and Pine Circle Drive in Green Acres.
The Green Acres community has been home to multiple criminal reports through the years, ranging from drug sales and thefts to murder. Greene’s agency has entered into agreements with neighboring landowners to aggressively enforce trespassing laws in the area, as well as sending additional deputies to work the area.
“We will continue to suppress narcotics and criminal activity in that area as we answer the complaints of the citizens,” the press release said.
Banks Batton was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for drug activities, and possession of paraphernalia. His bond was set at $32,000.
Cameron Jones was charged with simple possession of marijuana, and placed under a $1,000 bond.
Still at large is Zaki Butler. Butler faces warrants for trafficking in cocaine, maintaining. Dwelling for drug activity, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and marijuana, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
